Boomer Trends information on The Prostate Gland
Benign (noncancerous) enlargement of the Prostate, known as BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) is the most common prostate problem in men. Almost all men will develop some enlargement of the prostate as they age. An enlarge prostate does not neccessarily indicate prostate cancer. The American Cancer Society advises annual screening starting at age 50 in men who have a longer than ten year life expectancy. The American Urological Association agrees.
