According to the Alzheimer's Association,
Alzheimer's Disease is a brain disorder first described by German physician
Alois Alzheimer in 1906. "It is a progressive and fatal brain disease, destroying
brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior severe enough
to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life". Alzheimer's Disease is
the most common form of Dementia, thoough there are numerous other forms
of Dementia including, Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Vascular Dementia,
Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease and others. |
